Book Publisher Margie Wolfe and her cousin, journalist Pnina Bat Zvi, share their book The Promise, for children ages 9+, about the experience of their mothers, sisters Rachel and Toby, during the Holocaust. The story of two brave girls whose promise to their parents to “always, stay together” helped them survive Auschwitz is a window for children into this dark time, celebrating the strength and resilience of young people and the bonds of family.

Pnina Bat Zvi is a journalist and radio host in Tel Aviv and an award-winning documentary maker. Margie Wolfe, publisher of Second Story Press, has for twenty years created a world-renowned children’s Holocaust literature programme that includes Hana’s Suitcase, Hiding Edith and The Ship to Nowhere.
