Students engage directly with the history of the Holocaust and the personal memories of Holocaust survivors by viewing a survivor or rescuer video testimony from one of the approved websites and responding to the contest prompt by creating an original work of art, film, poetry or prose.
Middle and high school teachers can register now for Chapman University’s 24th Annual Holocaust Art & Writing Contest: The Strength of Love and the Will to Survive. This unique learning opportunity offers a meaningful way for students to engage with the personal stories of Holocaust survivors through their video testimonies and connect with themes relevant to their own lives.
Chapman University welcomes schools from Canada, the United States and abroad and invites them to submit up to three entries per school in any combination of the following categories: art, film, poetry, or prose. First and second place student winners in both the middle school and high school divisions will be awarded cash prizes along with their corresponding teachers and schools.
