Through lecture, poetry, letters and songs, Deborah Staiman presents a moving tribute to the life of Ilse Weber, Czech author and songwriter for children. Ilse was sent to the Theresienstadt Concentration Camp, where she served as a nurse in the children's ward of the camp’s hospital. There she wrote deceptively simple poetry and songs describing camp life, which she shared with the young and old to alleviate their suffering. With pianist Reuven Grajner.

Cantor Deborah Staiman, songstress - storyteller, received a Bachelor of Music from the University of Toronto, followed by operatic studies in London, England and Rome. She earned a Master of Sacred Music, Ordination and more recently an honorary doctorate from Hebrew Union College- Jewish Institute of Religion in New York.
