AZRIELI FOUNDATION MEMOIR LAUNCH

As part of Neuberger Holocaust Education Week, the Azrieli Foundation presents an evening of celebration for the launch of Elly Gotz’s memoir, Flights of Spirit. Renowned Holocaust scholar Dr. Robert Jan van Pelt will join Elly in a discussion about survival, resilience, and hope.

Elly Gotz was born in Kovno (Kaunas), Lithuania, in 1928. In 1941, when Elly was thirteen years old, he and his family were forced into the Kovno Ghetto for three years. In 1944, Elly and his father were deported to Kaufering, a subcamp of the Dachau Concentration Camp, where they endured harsh conditions and forced labour. They were liberated by the American army in 1945. After the war, Elly lived in Germany, Norway, Zimbabwe and South Africa. Elly and his family immigrated to Canada in 1964. Guests will recieve a complimentary copy of the memoir. Dessert reception and book signing to follow the launch.

ADMISSION FREE.
